NOA Tasks Anambra Citizens To Protect Public Utilities

Awka – Anambra citizens have been urged to take ownership of government projects and programmers.

Speaking to journalists at an event in Awka at the weekend, the state Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Charles Nwoji, noted that many people in Diaspora are responding to Governor Willie Obiano’s “Think- Home Philosophy’ mantra .

Nwoji said stakeholders should contribute toward the development of communities and the state by bringing new ideas and resources that would help government to consolidate on achievements already on ground.

He noted that Obiano has done very well in many areas, including security and has provided conducive business environment for investors.

On the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration, the NOA State Director noted that sustained mass mobilization and sensitization by the agency and other stakeholders has increased participation in the exercise as they are now more aware of their civic responsibilities.

Also speaking, a social affairs analyst based in the United kingdom, Mr. Hubert Oragui, observed that Obiano’s administration has done well in development of sectors of the state economy, including providing security infrastructure that has eliminated crime in the state using modern technology in crime fighting, while the street lightening project has not only restored night life but has equally added to the state security apparatus.

He, however, called on government to sustain efforts towards the implementation of the use of close circuit television in surveillance and security as well as continue the present drive to tackle street trading and illegal revenue collection to restore sanity on roads and markets in the state.
